HKINF WELCOMES BALDWIN’S OF ST JAMES’S AS OFFICIAL AUCTIONEER OF JUNE 2019 SHOW

HKINF is pleased to announce that Baldwin’s of St James’s will be one of the official auctioneers of the 8th Hong Kong International Numismatic Fair in June 2019.

St. James’s Auctions was established in 2004 as the auction division of Knightsbridge Coins, a thriving business founded in the mid-1970s by Stephen Fenton. Based in the prestigious quarter of St. James’s in the heart of London, St. James’s Auctions rapidly grew into one of the UK’s most reputable auction houses for coins, medallions, tokens, paper money and related objects.

In January 2017, St. James’s Auctions began a new venture with Baldwin’s Auctions – a division of A. H. Baldwin & Sons Ltd. that, having been founded in 1872, was one of the largest and longest established numismatic dealers and auction houses in the world. It was decided to merge the two names, forming a new auction company called Baldwin’s of St. James’s.

Baldwin’s of St. James’s prides itself on offering specialised attention, personal service and a bespoke marketing strategy that will ensure that each lot and each consignment achieves the very best results for consignors. On January 13, 2019, Baldwin’s of St. James’s set an auction record for a British coin when a 1703 Vigo five guineas piece sold at £845,000 including premium.

In June 2019, Baldwin’s of St. James’s joins hands with the Hong Kong International Numismatic Fair (HKINF) to make its auction debut in Hong Kong. The June Hong Kong auction features the third part of the Paul Hayward Collection of the Coins of Edward VII.
